Mohamed Fathi Ahmed Osman
Mohamed received his BA in English language from Cairo University in 1997. After that, he worked as a teacher of English at a secondary school for one year. He then moved to the Kingdom of Sauidi Arabia, where he worked as a Teaching Assistant at the English Department at Jeddah Teachers' College. In the academic year 2005/ 2006, Mohamed joined the University of Manchester, where he graduated with Distinction from the MA programme in Linguistics. His MA dissertation investigated language choice among Arabic-English bilinguals in Manchester, Britain.
His research interests include:
Bilingualism, language contact, language maintenance, code-switching and code-mixing, discourse markers, discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, diglossia and Arabic dialects, and stylistics.
