Maya Zara
Maya recently graduated from the University of Manchester with a BA (Hons) in English Language. Maya's undergraduate dissertation focussed on areas of ethnolectal phonology, in the British Asian community, and has been successful in proving the existence of a British Asian accent. Maya is currently working to revise her dissertation toward publication in an academic journal, and intends to take up her place on the PhD programme in Applied Linguistics, at Lancaster University, in 2011.
Her research interests include Language Contact, Ethnolectal phonology, Bilingualism, Psycholinguistics, Embodiment, Cognitive Linguistics, Sociolinguistics, and English Grammar.
